My last post was about the Steelers not being nervous about the Jets. But I guess I was wrong. Clearly they needed to be worried about the Jets. The worst run defense held the best run offense to a measly 112 yards rushing. And they managed to match their sack total for the year in just one game. Awesome! We suck ass. Can I ask what's up with us not being able to run againist the League's worst run defense teams? And the offensive line is something I don't even want to touch last night. Worst outing ever. And if we don't sign Faneca, I think things will get a lot worse next year.
Defensively, we suck even more. We over sold the blitz. I love LeBeau, but I think we blitzed too much. We were too concerned with rattling Clemens instead of stopping the run. Oh, that's another thing. It had been almost 2 years since we had a RB get over 100 yards. And then there was all of those killer penalties. Killer. Personally, this looked like our worst game in terms of tackling. The defense prides itself in being a team that can make those open field tackles consistently. But we didn't last night. Why? Because we oversold the blitz.
And sucky, sucky special teams. Rossum looks like he's turned out to be a complete bust. Tomlin has such little faith in our coverage units, we don't even kick to people anymore. Sweet. So just set them up with great field position each time. But don't worry at least they didn't run back on us.
